Seams For Dreams collected many pre-loved clothing donations during the festive holiday season and since then, the team has been able to participate in numerous distribution missions. In January, Seams For Dreams donated 250 articles of clothing to Wishing Well, an organization that has been affiliated with SFD since 2016.
Wishing Well distributed these clothes to 2 of its partner NGOs, Apne Aap Women’s Collective (AAWC) and Snehalaya.
The AAWC works with trafficked women and their daughters, and other marginalized girls from Mumbai’s Red Light district. The organization provides the women and girls with many resources such as health care, education, vocational support, shelter, and counselling.
Snehalaya also works with women, children and members of the LGBT community who have been affectedby the commercial sex industry. The organization also supports people with HIV/AIDS and has had 29,000 beneficiaries across their 16 projects.
All of these organizations are doing spectacular work and the SFD team is proud to be associated with so many impactful organizations that are also doing their part in giving back to at-risk communities. Seams For Dreams is excited to continue growing partnerships in hopes to reach more people in need and to clothe 100,000 people across India, one layer at a time!
