Leading fashion charity foundation Seams For Dreams is expanding operations and its initiatives by starting work on the second upcycled fashion line. “This has always been a major focus for Seams For Dreams,” founder Evelyn Sharma says, “there is so much wastage with the booming fast fashion industry so making something out of recyclable materials gives life to things that are otherwise considered scraps or trash.” Seams For Dreams started out in 2015 and each year has focused on a different aspect of sustainable fashion.

Today, the organization is growing steadily and while collecting gently-used clothing and donating it will still be one of SFD’s core goals, the team is looking forward to increasing its capacity with the upcoming upcycled fashion line. With all the donations that are not of use to the needy, scraps and ripped fabrics are then turned into something new for others to purchase. Once the line is ready to go, the pieces will be made available at the next SFD Garage Sale!

With this being said, SFD is currently hiring for a new design intern and wants to encourage all helping hands to apply. Sharma and her team have already started speaking to fashion schools for interested students and hopes to interview lots of qualified candidates for the project soon.
