Communities from all over India came together to help others in need when Kerala was affected by deadly floods in August. Many lost their homes, family, and all the belongings during the devastating events that left over 1 million individuals displaced. Even today, there are still people staying at relief camps in the state and are still struggling to rebuild what is left.
Seams For Dreams utilized its network and tried to mobilize the Mumbai community to gather more donations for those needing clothing and supplies such as bedsheets, blankets, and shoes during this time. Seams For Dreams was able to gather 500 items and were sent to an authorized Mumbai NGO collection center called, “The New Life Fellowship Association”. Thank you to our Advisory Board Member Mrs. Rachel Waters for being proactive and introducing us with this centre. Mrs Waters has helped us clothe people in need all across India and supported SFD’s mission, one layer at a time. These donations will be taken to the Kerala center and distributed amongst those currently staying in the relief camps.

As the organization continues to carry out donation drives and distribution missions, Founder Evelyn Sharma will be speaking at the French Curiosity Club event this evening, 18th September in Khar at the Veranda Underground, Executive Enclave Hotel. Sharma will be speaking to the audience and telling her inspirational story and showcasing SFD’s Upcycled Line while highlighting SFD’s journey into various areas of outreach, including the newest project called Love Bundles. The Love Bundles and pieces from the Upcycled line will also be on sale at the event in an area where donations will also be accepted. SFD is continuing to spread its vision throughout the community to do more good!
