Today marks one week since our event at JHELUM fashion house and many of you came to shop with us to raise funds! For those of you who want to get involved with our efforts, there are always ways that you can help us expand and grow! The best part of this is that you already have a closet, maybe two, full of clothes, and you can finally get in some much needed spring cleaning. Come on, you know you have clothes that you haven’t worn in ages!
If you hand it over, we’ll make sure it goes to someone in need. Here are some helpful tips on spring cleaning:
- If you haven’t worn it in a year, then you probably won’t wear it again.
This rule is a helpful way to decide whether or not you should keep something hangin’ around.
- Separate your clothes into piles.
By partaking in this exercise, it will help you to take every single piece of clothing you own and figure out if you want it or not. Read our article on organizing your clothes The KonMari way.
- Organize, organize, organize!
Take time to get some hangers if you need them and figure out where you will put everything in terms of the space that’s available to you.
- Prioritize your goodies.
If you live in a hot city like Bombay, do you really need 20 sweaters and all 10 jackets? Although these items are things you love, how often will you wear them? Always minimize based on priorities.
We hope these tips will help you make some more space in your closets and hearts! Also, the Seams for Dreams team would like to specifically request for you to donate some of your gently-used bedsheets, as one of our upcoming outreach programs is working with an old-age home that has a requirement for beautiful sheets. Remember when you’re done to pack your boxes and drop them off at one of our drop-off locations at the following addresses:

As always, the entire Seams For Dreams team thanks you for your endless support.
