By the 2024 Olympics, which is also hosted in Paris that year, the City of Love is hoping to become the hub for the love of sustainable fashion as well. In an initiative that looks to bring together designers, manufacturers, labels, and consumers, the “Paris Good Fashion” effort will encourage sustainability in their fashion industry throughout the city. The collective will bring on various industry experts to create a road map to make Paris the sustainable fashion capital of the world by 2024, based on Isabelle Lefort, a fashion journalist who is part of the committee that will be taking this plan forward.
Fashion is a big part of what gives Paris its charm and this initiative will help raise awareness for sustainability and will strive to make consumers more cognizant of their purchases and also to redefine the relationship that shoppers have with clothing. The plans for the Paris Good Fashion efforts will be launched in June, with a special focus on recycling within the fashion industry.
Seams For Dreams is excited to see how this plan unravels for Paris and how sustainable fashion continues to evolve over the next five years. These truly are the golden years for sustainability worldwide and we’re thrilled to be a part of the dialogue!
Keep giving in style!
