We live in a day and age where everything is available. You can buy a new t-shirt for two dollars at the retail store down the road or go online and order a hundred pieces for half the price directly from China. Our world has become meaningless. We run after the newest fashion trends, try to keep up with the seasons, get lost in consumerism. But do we still like any of the clothes we wear? Life has become a constant hustle for the new.
But then there are these rare moments when you look at a painting, or a beautiful landscape, maybe an old handkerchief embroidered by your grandma. It touches your heart knowing that there is only one of this kind; and there is no price that could justify it’s worth.
In a world where you can have everything, we long for the special. Something that tells the story of a person, an era. It’s like finding your soulmate, because you know there can only be one.
I fell in love with all things vintage the day I opened my grandpa’s cellar and found an amazing collection of first edition books. Bound in leather, printed in blocks, dipped in the smell of history. Of course my grandma’s collection of 60s style coats right next to them was a great distraction and finally had me walk a little cellar fashion show!
I think there is nothing more beautiful than what tells a story. At Seams For Dreams we tell the story of generous people who donate their own clothes for someone in need. Every few months we hold a Garage Sale fundraiser where we sell the most fashionable clothes from your wardrobe along with amazing designer donations to raise money for a good cause! Donate now and become a part of our mission to GIVE IN STYLE.
Love,
Evelyn
