If you happen to be a fashion connoisseur and will be attending Lakme Fashion Week, today will be the day where three designers partner with consumer waste fabric makers to showcase their collections for Winter 2017. In an initiative using the hash tag #RestartFashion, designers have used an innovative approach to create their collections by partnering with companies that are focused on recyclable fashion. These are the labels and designers that will be showcasing their sustainable lines for the winter today.
Picture Coutersy: Doodlage by Kriti Tula X Conserve India
Doodlage has partnered with Conserve India, which uses discarded polybags that have been collected by the rag-picking community. Doodlage is a brand known to upcycle and they have integrated the waterproof materials from Conserve India into their collection.
Picture Coutersy: Chola by Sohaya Misra X Anandi Enterprises
This collection will feature a lot of monochrome pieces that are made from recycled organic cotton fabrics that have been sourced from Tamil Nadu’s Anandi Enterprises.
Picture Coutersy: Anuj Bhutani X Geetanjali Woollens
Bhutani’s collection for winter will feature lots of recycled wool from Geetanjali Woollens. Apart from the standard cotton and linen that is characteristic of Bhutani’s work, the collection will feature lots of wool blends and pieces that are perfect for layering.
Seams For Dreams is proud to see designers who have already embraced sustainability create fresh approaches to the way they create their labels. By collaborating with organizations that are already doing great work in the field, designers are maximizing their impact in the sustainable fashion front. We can’t wait to see what these designers have in store!
Keep Giving In Style!
