An event called Swap Swag is set to happen on the 16th of December in Bangalore at Whitefield Mall and we couldn’t be more excited! Advertised as the biggest fashion swap party that’s ever happened in the city, Swap Swag will have over 2,000 pieces of clothing for you to exchange with. The event runs on points, allowing individuals to swap their clothes for points or new clothes at the party itself.
The party was organized by Pooja Sukhija, founder of an e-commerce/tech fashion startup called Recode that now has a store at Whitefield Mall also. Her company has a similar concept to the sale and encourages a green approach to fashion. If anyone is interested in participating in the swap sale, one simply has to register and then fill out the details of the clothing they wish to sell before the 12th of December. After this, the clothing will go through a quality check performed by Recode, after which the seller gets points for those garments and someone from the team will pick up the clothing. The points earned can be redeemed by purchasing other clothing items at the sale. Even individuals who are not sellers can purchase points and shop at the sale!
The sale will feature everything from big brands to indie and sustainable brands. This is a great effort that has been put forward by Pooja and her team at Recode and the company hopes to eventually make this a quarterly event in Bangalore.
