Hi, Friends and SFD Supporters!
The summertime calls for more donations and with more donations, we are always inspired as a team to give more as we get more support. This past month, SFD donated a total of 350 articles of clothing, 200 of which went to our longstanding NGO partner Green Yatra and the other 150 articles were sent to Wishing Well. Both of these organizations do fabulous work in our community, so help us help them and keep all of your donations coming in! With all of your help each month, we inch closer to our goal to clothe 100,000 people in need across India.
SFD was also associated with Mumbai’s second Clothes Swap event, which was held at FAD International during Fashion Revolution Week in collaboration with Fair Trunk. I love that the sustainable fashion movement is also creating a community of people and fun events that really help raise awareness about all the different ways we can practice sustainability in our day to day lives. With this in mind, I actually had my first ever closet makeover this past month with friends Rochelle Rao and Sasha Sharma and of course, I went live to make sure it went down in the books forever. We also have lots to look forward to this season, and our annual fashion fundraising event happened in partnership with SFD’s very own advisory board member Ms. Jhelum Gopal Dalvi. The event took place on Friday, 26th April at JHELUM FASHION HOUSE and featured the lovely summer collections of many of India’s top designers. Of course, a portion of all proceeds went towards our mission to clothe 100,000 people in need across India. In addition to purchasing designer pieces, our SFD team displayed SFD Love Bundles for sponsorship at just INR 500 a piece in preparation for the next Love Bundle distribution. The latest upcycled collection was also available for purchase and can still be browsed on Shop XoE at www.shopxoe.com.
