With the new season at bay, we want to invite you to go through those packed-to-the-brim closets and put aside all of your pre-loved items that you no longer wear! Spring is in the air and there’s no better time of year to do a little bit of tidying and cleaning. Here are three general rules to help you while you clean!
- The one-year rule
If you haven’t worn it in a year, there’s no reason to hold on to it forever. Somebody else in need could put that shirt, sweater or trouser to good use!
- Prioritize and organize
Take some time to go one step further than just the normal decluttering. Figure out a method that makes everything you need accessible and in its place. Check out famous organizer Marie Kondo’s tips on how to declutter your wardrobe here, knowing where everything is prevents you from purchasing unnecessary clothing out of haste!
- Donate it no matter what
Even if you’re unsure if it’s wearable, always remember that many NGOs can even use the scraps to make certain accessories!
Seams For Dreams always makes sure that every piece of clothing donated is either passed along to one of its partner NGOs or upcycled for its own line. So keep us in mind as you clean and pack up a box to donate. It will help us reach our goal to clothe 100,000 people in need across India!
In order to donate, bring a box with your name, phone number and e-mail address to the following address:
