You probably have heard of business tycoon Vijay Mallya’s star son Siddhartha for being one of the richest Indians, dating Bollywood’s hottest actress Deepika Padukone and of course being a cricket enthusiast! Leave alone the controversy talk for a minute and let’s focus on the real person here…
Who is Sid Mallya really? The boy who seems to have everything on the silver platter, who speaks his mind freely on social media and who always dresses at his top game?
We had a close encounter with Sid, who currently lives in his small flat in London’s downtown with the love of his life, his dog Duke. He’s perusing his dream of becoming an international actor. And by “perusing” we don’t mean the typical rich-kid way of “Daddy buy me a movie”, but this kid is serious! After years of training at the best acting schools like the Royal Central School Of Speech And Drama, he just recently got his big break with the film “Brahman Naman” which showed at Sundance Film Festival! And we think that’s pretty cool!
The kid that literally could have anything, prefers to live a decent lifestyle with his friends, career and attitude being quite different than what the media usually says. Did you know that Sid has a heart for the blind? In fact he has been actively supporting the Happy Home and School for the Blind in Mumbai for several years! Always lending a helping hand to his friends. Sid is a big supporter of Seams For Dreams, too, which again is pretty cool.
With his family spread over three continents, Sid lives a life between Los Angeles, London and Mumbai. Which could seem pretty hectic to most of us, but he seems to be humble enough to appreciate the possibility for him to live such an amazing life! We of course asked him for his favourite vintage stores and he told us that you can find the best in Silver Lake (LA) and on Portobello Road (London). He in fact shops there himself every now and then. Who would have thought that a guy like Sid would wear pre-loved clothes? Pretty. Damn. Cool.
Sid also told us that actually he gives away tons of his personal wardrobe all the time cause he realized that he only wears his 10 favourite pieces on repeat anyway. What’s the point of storing up stuff when someone else could enjoy it more! Just like us, he is all for recycling and reusing! When we asked him what his favourite vintage piece is, he replied: “Actually it’s not even a piece clothing! It’s a vintage James Bond film poster, featuring my two favourite bond films ‘Live and Let die’ and ‘The Spy who Loved me’ on the same page!” Clearly Sid’s passion lies in the movies and we wish him that his dreams come true and he does many more films! Thinking of it… Accent, check. Looks, check. Talent, check. Wouldn’t he make a great James Bond himself???
So, who is Sid Mallya? Bottom line: We think he’s a pretty cool guy! And we love him even more because he gives in style!
