As said by Yves Saint Laurent, ‘Fashions fade, style is eternal’- is something I believe personally. Being brought up in school and colleges where every second person took their effort to either get dressed for socials or proms at school, it didn’t take me much time to be involved in the world of fashion.
However, my love for vintage clothing grew extensively while I spent my three years in Sydney, Australia. I would make sure to visit the Sunday markets at Paddington or hop in to the coolest vintage stores around Newtown and Glebe in Sydney. While I came back to India, I didn’t see much opportunity in terms of shopping at vintage stores or garage sales around the country.
Couple of weeks back when I was invited for a garage sale hosted by Evelyn Sharma and Vogue India for ‘Seams for Dreams’, I was thrilled to be a part of this event because all the funds collected were going to the people of Nepal who were affected by the recent earthquake. Getting an opportunity to shop and give back to my country Nepal was very heart touching for me. So, without a second thought I picked a beautiful neon skater dress, a checkered top and a casual tee designed by Rocky S from the garage sale.
