For well over 100 years, National Geographic has used its magazine as a way to raise awareness for the conservation of our planet. Their stories stretch far beyond simply conservation, however, and even shed light on the lives of the diversity of our planet, animals and people both. During one of the eco-evenings, which were held in Mumbai and New Delhi and focus on a wide array of topics, the organization made a lovely announcement that will allow visionaries to step forward and express their ideas for a better future.
In spirit of the Earth Day celebrations, Swati Mohan, the Business Head for National Geographic and Fox Networks India announced that the network was going to extend this opportunity to those who felt they had a compelling idea for change. The contest will be judged by National Geographic and in collaboration with Farhan Akhtar, who has become the face of the campaign.
At Seams For Dreams, we love to hear when celebrities and influencers stand up for causes that advocate for sustainability. Whether individuals support sustainability in fashion, food, water, or waste, we often forget that all of these things are interconnected when it comes to sustainability.
National Geographic is opening this platform up for individuals to present their ideas and for their ideas to be heard across multiple channels. One lucky winner will have their story produced by National Geographic and two additional shortlisted candidates will have their stories published in the National Geographic India Magazine.
In order to submit your story, one has to simply follow instructions and upload a video at www.lightscameraearth.com.
Keep giving in style!
