And guess what? Sustainability will be the main topic of the summit! Organized by India Fashion Incubator and Kerala State Institute of Design and Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence, which is a government institution, the summit will be held on 3rd March at the Marriott. This summit was the brain child of prominent fashion journalist Vinod Nair and businessman Arun Balachandran.
Development within the sustainable fashion sector is the hot topic for the weekend and forums and discussions will be held that put hand-woven textiles center stage. The talks will be tailored in a way that encourage designers to explore these textiles and aim to educate and influence fashion students. After all, these students hold the key to the future for the fashion industry!
So, who will be attending the summit?
The panels and talks will be led by some of fashion’s leading executives and designers, including Manish Malhotra, Wendell Rodricks, Neena Haridas from L’Officiel India, and Amazon Fashion’s Creative Head Narendra Kumar.
What will be the objectives of the conference?
As per the IFS website, there are 5 main objectives:
- To launch and nurture new initiatives in the business of fashion
- To build a well-connected co-operative fashion network for tomorrow
- To find and promote budding talents in the field of fashion
- To create a mentor platform for the young talents
- To promote handwoven textiles and artisanal work
Seams For Dreams cannot wait to get the highlights of the conference and find out about new innovations within the sector. It’s important that some of the biggest names in fashion come together to promote sustainable fashion and to put efforts towards making an impact for our environment and people. This is one of the most effective ways to create change and now our future designers have a say in the matter!
Keep Giving In Style!
