In partnership with two Indian-American designers Meg and Komie Vora from the cruelty-free brand Delikate Rayne, PETA launched the Fashion Fauxever campaign, which aims to promote animal-friendly accessories and clothing in India. As two steadfast vegetarians who were raised in a Jain and Hindu family, Meg and Komie were the creative directors and co-stylists for this look book for PETA India that showcases their designs along with other brands who are making animal-friendly clothing.

This story comes about when many high-street fashion brands such as H&M, Mango, and Zara have slowly started to change the way they make clothes and use more materials such as faux leather, silk, wool, and fur. Furthermore, the brands have launched entire collections that pride themselves on using ethical and sustainable fabrics, and are holding themselves accountable to “going green” to some degree by using carbon neutral facilities.
Change makers in the ethical fashion industry such as Meg and Komie are really putting a focus on spreading the message that animal-friendly materials can look just as good, if not better, than the real deal. They are also inspiring individuals to create their own cruelty-free fashion wardrobes by shopping from brands that put being animal-friendly at the center of their business.
