While we are celebrating Diwali in India, a lot of our fashionista friends from other parts of the world are dressing up and putting on costumes for Halloween! During this season, a lot of fashionistas shop for second hand vintage clothes in various vintage shops and channel different celebrities and personalities with matching accessories and make-up. Here are some suggested Halloween upcycled fashion looks that can easily be attained with your old clothes or some vintage finds to make sure you arrive in style at any Halloween costume party:
Beyonce rocked the Frieda Kahlo look by putting together a colorful vintage blouse with great makeup, highlighting the eyebrows that Kahlo is well-known for. To complete the look, get some of those old plastic flowers that decorate your house or buy some at a second hand vintage shop and sew them all in together to make a fabulous headdress!
Everyone has that little black dress in their closets and why not take it out and wear it this Halloween, channeling the Holly Golightly character of beloved fashion icon, Audrey Hepburn! Accessorize with some vintage black kitten heels that can easily be bought at any vintage shop and some glamour accessories and you are off in style all through the night!
Remember Cruella De Vil from that Disney movie 101 Dalmatians? She was all stylish and chic and so evil that coming in a Halloween party dressed up as this popular villainess will surely make heads turn. How to get the look? Color streaks of your hair in white or platinum, grab one of your old red dresses and wear them with a fake fur coat that can be bought at any vintage shop. We do recommend getting some old fabrics and sewing them together to make long gloves for yourself, completing the Cruella De Vil look!
We love this Halloween costume channeling Alice in Wonderland! To get the look, grab your any cooking apron in your house, and layer over a nice puffy vintage dress. We recommend going through your closets and looking for old dresses in any pastel color (preferably Tiffany blue), layering some tulle fabric beneath, and pairing them with white knee high socks or stockings and some Mary Jane shoes.
So for all of our fashionista friends partying all over the world for Halloween, be sure to arrive in style with some vintage fashion finds and have a great Halloween!
