Team Seams For Dreams is in party mood today! We are celebrating the first year anniversary of the operations started in July 2015. Here are a few stats on whats happened in the past 12 months:
On July 12, 2015 actress and philanthropist Evelyn Sharma founded Seams For Dreams Charity Foundation with friend and co-director Vandana Kripalani and the help of an advisory board combining names from backgrounds of fashion and charity. Her mission was clear: To use the universal love for fashion to give back to humanity. With a vision to create a platform for the film and fashion industry to come together in support of social causes by giving in style!
August 23, 2015: Seams For Dreams holds it’s first glamorous fundraising event, the Garage Sale, in association with VOGUE India and supported by Olive Bar & Kitchen and YORK Wines! The event saw many faces from the film and fashion industry and for the first time the founder’s vision became alive!
In the following months more than 4000 items of clothing passed through the hands of Team SFD and we were able to help people in need all over India. Our outreach projects took shape and people’s lives were changed. From the earth quake victims in Nepal, to rescued child laborers in Jaipur, to women and kids rescued out of human trafficking, smiles were shared and hope spread like a wild fire, thanks to your donations!
On December 6, 2015 Seams For Dreams hosted a second and even more successful fundraising event with MOET Chandon at Olive Bar & Kitchen in Mumbai! Glamour and fashion blew in like snowflakes and so did the funds! Amazing second hand clothes and brand new designer donations were sold against money donations to support our social causes and brought in a very successful end to 2015 for our team at SFD!
In 2016 operations went even stronger and we were invited to many society, college and fashion events to showcase our beautiful pre-loved fashion and to raise funds with mini Garage Sales all over Mumbai! From fashion shows to multi-designer events to college fests, we loved getting to know everyone we met along the way and felt the support toward our mission to give in style!
With the completion of year 1 we would like to thank all of you. You are world-changers. People with a golden heart to help. True fashionistas who give in style.
