Perhaps it was my constant yearning for mysteriousness that got me to where I am today. Sitting on a (relatively hard, uncushioned) couch in Bombay. India. Ten-thousand miles away from my home in a small town in Minnesota.
How did I get here? Lets make a long story short. I was a young girl interested in fashion. I went to college to try and make fashion my career. During college I learned I could pose in front of a camera whilst wearing fashionable clothing and make money for it. I grew to enjoy this. I tucked away the books, packed my bags, and moved to Asia. I became a full time model who had the luxury of traveling to exotic locale. India is my fourth stop.
I have learned that fashion is not a surface thing. What we wear each day is an active decision guided by our subconscious mind. Styles evolve because we evolve (For example, today I would not be caught dead wearing low-rider blue jeans. When I was twelve, yes.)

Before India, I actively searched for something that would feed my desire to contribute and give back to the fashion world, on a deeper level than just modeling. Cue Seams For Dreams. My passion for writing + giving back + establishing a stronger connection to the city I’m inhabiting? Yes, please.
This will be a weekly blog. I will incorporate nuggets of my past, but I hope to focus on my daily life here in Bombay. A émigré’s perspective on what it’s like to live in India – from my days at castings and shoots, to walking the crowded streets, to my home life making Nutella banana pancakes.
I will make it as colorful as possible, detailing my most outrageous experiences alongside plentiful pictures. I risk looking like a tourist just for you guys. Sarcasm will slide from 100 to 30 percent. Already I have about 20 ideas for blog posts, from my brief bout of food poisoning to that time I waited for three hours at a TVC casting.
What do you want to hear? I’m all ears.
Until next week,
xoxo
